Service creation tools for speech interactive services

This paper discusses service creation tools and the benefits which these tools can deliver. The BT VISAGE (voice interactive services application generation environment) service creation tool is used as a specific example and is described in some detail. VISAGE is currently used within BT to generate advanced network-based services, an example of this being the network-based call-answering service ‘CallMinder’ which runs on the interactive speech applications platform (ISAP).
